(2022’s Most Popular Fragrances ) — It’s no secret that some people are just teeming with anger behind the wheel. But what you may not know is that a lot of it has to do with internal struggles. Doctors call it intermittent explosive disorder. It’s an issue that can trigger a person to get angry and aggressive quickly. Across the country, several places have earned the title of Road Rage Capitals. A study by Circuit Route Planner analyzed traffic data and Twitter scrapes to find out which cities had the highest incidents of road rage per 100,000 residents. The top city was Eugene, Oregon. Interestingly, big cities like New York and Los Angeles didn’t make the list at all.
Some of the most common road rage behavior includes driving too closely or cutting another driver off. It can also include attempting to block a car from changing lanes or slamming on the brakes. About 2% of drivers admit to trying to run somebody off the road, which can often turn into a deadly shooting.
According to the study, millennials who were born between 1981 and 1996, are the most likely to be involved in a road rage incident. The generation that preceded them, Gen X drivers, were the next most likely to engage in the same behavior. The generation about to retire, Baby Boomers, had the lowest rate of road rage activity.
